A huge chunk of homebrewing is being able to build things to suit... Whether it's ways to produce the beer or distribute it, DIY skills come in really handy. I might not build the best looking stuff, but some of these projects have saved me a ton of money.
Completed success stories are listed first, and an unfinished project or two are at the bottom (advice/suggestions on completing them are welcome!)
Recipe Projects:
| From time to time, I will do themed recipe projects. Sometimes these involve taking one batch of beer and splitting it 5 ways and flavoring it. Sometimes I take a theme and brew several batches around it. |

Completed DIY Projects:
1-gallon Brewing System
So I have been thinking about this for a while... Maybe it's constantly seeing Dogfish Head do "test batches in the Rehoboth brewpub" on Brew Masters... Maybe it was Appalachian Brewing Co. doing one offs in Camp Hill and Gettysburg while the main production was in Harrisburg... But I have been wanting to build a small brewery for one-gallon test batches.

Three Tap Keezer
So when I moved to Lancaster, I encountered a terrible problem. For as awesome as the new house was, it had one major design flaw. The basement door has a closet located about 4' across from it. This made it impossible to angle my 8' x 2' x 42" bar through the door and down to the basement. The solution? A keezer!

The Auto-Mill
This is my VERY ugly motorized barley mill... Started out with a nice clean new Barley Crusher and then I mounted it on... this. It's ugly, but it beats hand cranking grains!
