The Summer of '09 brought three new beers from Dubbel Dachs that celebrated freedom. Freedom to drink refreshing summertime beers. I successfully pulled off a red, white and blue theme, albeit reversed, with these beers.
Gallery of progress... Beers in chronological order...
First up was the blue - Blueberry Blonde, which I brewed on May 23rd. I used a light blonde ale recipe which I fruited with blueberries in secondary.
The next brew was the white - An authentic Belgian-style witbier (white beer) recipe which I have dubbed Wild Wit. This hazy white-yellow wheat beer will strive for a silky smooth, refreshing texture accented by just the right tropical spice combinations. Wild Wit will be brewed on or around June 13th.
Finally, on July 3rd - the eve of Beermerica's Independance - I brewed a Cherry Saison. A mix of sour and sweet cherries brought the red to this traditionally funky farmhouse ale.
The Beermerica Series... Ask not what your country will do for beer... Drink what beers you can for your country!!!

Celebrating Freedom on Cherry Saison Brew Day. I feel this captures America in a snapshot. Camo, Trogenator, sleeveless shirts, the Stars & Stripes, and a machete taken on a brew day. Only thing missing is a dead animal.
